Zoe & Jackson -- Because Today is National Friendship Day!
Friendship is wonderful. Among other things, friendship works to stave off social isolation -- a very real problem for many, particularly those with autism, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities. What's more, that social isolation is a real problem for the families of those afflicted.
At our Marne Street Clinic, we work with children and their families to reduce social isolation by working on increasing connections. We offer group therapy for the individual receiving services but also offer sibling support groups and parent support groups! These groups open wonderful channels of communication between people facing similar issues. Often, friendships blossom.
In honor of National Friendship Day, we invite you to click here to read about two children served at Marne Street Clinic who made a lovely connection; heads up -- in their story, they weren't the only ones to do so!
