CB Staff Attends Neighborhood National Nights Out
On August 6, 2019, several CB staff members gathered their promotional carts filled with branded stress balls, bags, and pens and headed off to several neighborhoods around New Haven for National Night Out.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. Across the nation, millions of neighborhoods take part in the campaign to enhance the relationship between community and law enforcement.
Neighborhoods host block parties, fairs, cookouts, and other events with safety demonstrations, youth events, kid zones, food trucks, and local community organizations.
"National Night Out is a fantastic opportunity for our youth and their families to attend," says Luz Ramos-Ortega, CB care coordinator.
Luz shares that with all the terrible events going on nowadays, families have lost trust in their communities. "These events show our youth that law-enforcement and community workers are here to help, support and protect us," Luz adds. "The events show that good things can happen when communities come together."
Here are some pictures of our CB staffers attending National Night Out in several neighborhoods. Thank you to all who participated!
