Clifford Beers Re-imagines Their Annual Builders of Hope Event for Covid-19
While our Builders of Hope Breakfast typically takes place in a large morning gathering, Covid-19 has inspired us to revamp the event for this year in the wake of this national health crisis. Our number one priority is keeping the friends, donors and staff of Clifford Beers safe. With restrictions still placed on large indoor gatherings, we have decided that this year's event will take place as a socially distanced outdoor event.
We are set to host the event on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, and will still have Nic Sheff as our keynote speaker, virtually. The start time of the event is shifting to 7:00 - 8:30 PM and we are turning our breakfast into a Drive-In "Movie," Builders of Hope on the BIG Screen! The Builders of Hope Drive-In will take place at the North Haven Fairgrounds in North Haven, CT. You will be able to attend the Drive-in by either remaining in your car or creating a parking lot picnic in between the socially distanced cars.
All sponsorships for the original April 3rd date will be applied to the new September event and all benefits and recognition sponsors receive at the Breakfast will remain the same in this new setting.
All guests will automatically be placed on the registration list for September 16th and we will follow up to confirm that your guest list is accurate. All guests will be provided a "Party in a Box" that will give them snacks, finger foods and drinks that they can dine on during the event.
With the changes being made on this year's event and the importance of educating our teens on the effects of substance use, we have also decided to open up ticket sales to our teens, 13 to 19 years of age. Nic started his journey with substance use at the age of 11, and like most all the work that Clifford Beers does, early intervention is so important.
